Come enjoy the world's most beloved musical! When a
postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life,
she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven
children of a widowed naval Captain. Her rapport with
the youngsters and her generosity of spirit capture the
heart of the stern Captain and they marry. They return
from their honeymoon to find Austria invaded by the
Nazis. The family's narrow escape over the mountains
to Switzerland provides a thrilling and inspirational
finale. Songs include “Do Re Mi,” “The Sound of Music,” “No Way to Stop It,” “How Can Love Survive” and “Climb Every Mountain.”
The Sound of Music is directed by Roy Von Rains, Jr. and the Musical Direction is by Mark Reppert with Choreography by Rebecca K. Campbell. Starring in The Sound of Music are Rose Passione (Maria), Don Matthews (Captain Von Trapp), Kris Wildman (Mother Abbess), Mark Ropers (Max) and Livia Genise (Elsa Schraeder). The Von Trapp children are played by Julia Holden-Hunkins (Leisl), Karl Moeglein (Friedrich), Lauren Green (Louisa), Preston Mead (Kurt), Holly Ragsdale (Brigitta), Annika Larson (Marta) and
Jordon Trunnell (Gretl). They are joined by a cast of 14, including Kristie Abart, Aaron J. Falk, Marlena Gray, Stephanie Jones, Tim Kelly, Katherine Lang, Kathleen Marrs, Ketzal McCready, Katie Moeglein, Lindee Newman, David Rees, Marilyn Reppert, Diana Reynolds Roome, Alexandra Schireman, Lillie Shephard, Zaq Wentworth, Kathy Wing and Douglas Young.
Joining Mark Reppert in the pit are Lori Calhoun (Clarinet & Flute), Karl Iverson (Keyboard 2), Beth Martin (Violin), Jesus Mendoza (Trumpet) and Steve Sutfin (drums). “The Sound of Music” is sponsored by South Stage Cellars.

The production team for “Sound of Music” includes Camelot’s resident designers: properties master Tyler Ward, sound and audio/video designer Brian O’Connor and set designer and master carpenter Don Zastoupil. Lighting design is by Jenelle Ragsdale. Costume design is by Ekstrom & Glass Designs, with Wigs by Virginia Carol Hudson. Biographies
Rebecca Campbell ~ Director/Choreographer
Camelot’s Conservatory Director and Artistic Associate to the Artistic Director, Ms. Campbell served as the Director of Dance at Pacific University for 6 years and has over 15 years of experience as an instructor in performing arts. At CTC, she has directed such shows as “The Secret Garden” and “Into the Woods,” as well as the Conservatory productions “Into the Woods” to “Once Upon A Mattress.” Ms. Campbell choreographed shows at CTC from “White Christmas” to “Zorba” and has appeared in “White Christmas,” “Shenandoah” and “Spotlight on Judy Garland.” She teaches Social Studies at the Crater School of Business and holds a B.A. in Music and History from Pacific University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from SOU.
Roy Von Rains, Jr. ~ Director/Production Manager
Roy’s past roles include Cazzie in “King of City Island,” Willie Stark in “All The Kings Men,” John Birt in “Frost/ Nixon,” Sgt. Toomey in “Biloxi Blues,” Mortimer in “Arsenic and Old Lace,” Gary Lefkowitz in “I Hate Hamlet” and Lt. Sam Weinberg in “A Few Good Men.” Film credits include The Tuskegee Airmen and Tushka and The Trail of Tears: Cherokee Legacy.
Mark Reppart ~ Musical Director/Arranger
Mark Reppert studied conducting, composition, piano, and music history at the University of Southern California, graduating with a degree in B.A. in Music History in 1973 and completed a master’s degree in piano performance from Cal State University, Chico. He recently retired from a 33 year career in public schools music teaching. The last ten of those years was as director of award-winning choirs at North Medford High School. Mr. Reppert is now an active musician in the Rogue Valley. He is in his fourth year as director of the Siskiyou Singers in Ashland. He accompanies for the Jefferson State Choral Coalition, under the direction of Kirby Shaw, and works as a musician in many other capacities around the Valley. He has been the music director at Camelot Theatre for “Shenandoah,” “Cabaret,” “Secret Garden,” “Gigi,” “Spotlight on Mae West,” “White Christmas,” “Sweeney Todd,” Gypsy” and “Woody Guthrie.”
Livia Genise ~ Elsa Schraeder
A former Broadway actress and Camelot’s Artistic Director, Livia Genise has both directed and starred in many Camelot productions, including “All the King’s Men,” "Funny Girl,” “Rags,” “Gigi,” “Cabaret,” “Shenandoah, “Sockdology,” “Sweeney Todd” and “Master Class.” She was seen most recently as Mama Rose in Camelot's “Gypsy.”
Don Matthews ~ Captain Georg von Trapp
Currently the morning classical music host at Jefferson Public Radio, Don has appeared as Emile de Becque in “South Pacific” with Rogue Music Theatre, El Gallo in “The Fantasticks” with Oregon Stage Works, and in numerous productions at the Camelot Theatre including Don Quixote in “Man of La Mancha,” Sweeney Todd in “Sweeney Todd” and most recently as William Russell in “The Best Man.”
Rose Passione ~ Maria Rainer
Since arriving in the Rogue Valley in 2006, Rose Passione has stayed delightfully engaged with both theater and music. At Camelot, appearances include: Abigail Adams in “1776,” Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl,” Rebecca Hershkowitz in “Rags,” Meg Brockie in “Brigadoon.” She appeared in “All in the Timing” with Next Stage Repertory Company earlier this year.
Mark B. Ropers ~ Max Detweiler
Last seen in the Camelot Theatre's production of “Gypsy,” Mark has been acting since age 10, when he played a Lost Boy in “Peter Pan.” Since then, he has been involved in over a hundred productions from “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” to “The Amazing Mrs. Slee.”
Kris Wildman ~ The Mother Abbess
Kris Wildman is happy to be making her Southern Oregon musical theatre debut at Camelot Theatre by playing one of her favorite roles for the third time. She is an artistically eclectic native of Southern California and recently moved to Selma, Oregon. Music theatre and operetta roles include Marsinah in “Kismet,” Meg Boyd in “Damn Yankees,” Lady Angela in “Patience” and Mrs. Darling in “Peter Pan.” For 17 years, she was principal soprano with Opera a la Carte, the nationally touring Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company.
