Slay The Dragon Campaign

We are very proud that Camelot has become "the" community theatre for Southern Oregon. All of our performers and staff are passionate about presenting finely-tuned productions to our local audience for the purpose of entertaining and, often, enlightening them. The Theatre is heading into its 36th Season and our 7th in the James M. Collier Theatre Building. When we built the new $2.5 million-dollar theatre in 2011, we were left with a significant mortgage on the facility, which costs the Theatre $50,000 a year. This has been a strain on our operations, but little by little we have brought that debt down to $500,000. Now, thanks to the continued generosity of James Collier and an anonymous donor, we are below $200,000 of eliminating our mortgage. To make this happen, we have initiated a "Slay the Dragon" matching campaign and are asking for your support to put the Theatre on a solid financial foundation. To put this in perspective, our savings could be used to secure the rights and royalties for an entire season of musicals, dramas and Spotlight productions, or to purchase additional microphones to enhance the quality of our productions or to establish a reserve account to cover building maintenance needs or to do many other things that would make our productions even more fun and exciting.

Beginning with the Board, the entire company has contributed to this campaign. We are asking for an additional stretch to ensure the sustainability of Camelot Theatre for years to come. Please consider making a separate donation restricted to "Slay the Dragon" and help us eliminate the mortgage. Your contribution is completely tax deductible. We would welcome an opportunity to answer any questions you may have and look forward to seeing you in our 36th Season.

Annual Operations

Performing arts organizations cannot rely on ticket sales alone to cover production and administrative costs each season, and Camelot is no exception. A gift of cash or stock is most helpful in addressing these needs. We particularly appreciate our Excalibur Society members whose pledges of $500 or more for the following year enable stable and predictable fiscal planning.

Make a Commemorative Gift

Just as Camelot celebrates the human spirit, a gift to Camelot that honors another is a wonderful way to celebrate their achievements. Commemorative gifts can also serve to demonstrate your own support of live theatre. Note: there is a limited supply of the commemorative options. Check with the Box Office to ensure availability of the preferred item before donating with commemoration in mind.

Commemorative options include pavers, seats, dressing stations and trees. Click here for details of each option.

The Camelot Conservatory - Support the Future of Live Theatre

The Camelot Conservatory offers comprehensive training of young theatre artists while developing self-confidence, teamwork and communication skills and fostering an enduring appreciation of live theatre. Experienced theatre professionals provide instruction in a nurturing environment. The six-week Camelot Musical Theatre Conservatory program culminates in a professionally directed production with full participation by all students.

Support for this program is the mission of Camelot's Guinevere Society, whose members contribute $100 or more annually.

Give Double: Ask Your Employer to Match Your Contribution

Some employers will double or triple their employees’ contributions to nonprofit organizations. It’s a great way to make your gift to Camelot go further at no extra cost to you. Plus, you’ll receive giving recognition at the level that includes the matching gifts made on your behalf. Contact your human resources department to see if you qualify.
