Legally Blonde, Jr.

July 29 - July 31, 2022

Show Information

Camelot Theatre in partnership with the Oregon Conservatory of Performing Arts (OCPA) offers exciting summer conservatory training for students ages 9-19. The program culminates with a full Broadway production by these talented students. This year the Conservatory brings Harvard's beloved blonde to the stage in a glittery pink storm in this fun and upbeat adaptation of the hit film and award-winning Broadway musical. Legally Blonde Jr. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit, and sass!

Legally Blonde Jr. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle's boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't mutually exclusive. As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.

At Camelot we believe that diversity and inclusion make us stronger and enrich all of our lives. Diversity means inviting new people of different cultures, color, sexual orientation, etc., to the party...inclusion means asking them to dance. As Maya Angelou wrote: “We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal ....”
