George Herkert

George O. Herkert IV is a “partially” retired Magician & Stage Illusionist, escape artist, actor, and community theater Director. He was introduced to the art of “Magic,” demonstrating close up effects in a friend’s magic store in Eugene. George was educated at the University of Miami’s Theater Department with performances there in the Globe Theater. After moving to Eugene from New York, he and his wife put together a magical stage illusion show, Weiss & Patricia’s Wonderful World of Magic, which toured in Japan, Germany, France and the U.S. Both are lifetime members of the Society of American Magicians, International Brotherhood of Magicians, and Hollywood’s esteemed “Magic Castle.”  George has had performance credits at Canby, Beaverton, Lakewood, Randall, Camelot, and his favorite: Oregon Cabaret Theater, owned by his daughter and son-in-law. George lives in Medford and enjoys time with his family.
